Depicts 1940 when the Homeguard was formed. Cottage
shows a pillbox as a gun emplacement, a hand cranked air raid siren, & a
flagpole to fly the Union Jack. Notice the flowerbed has been taken over
for growing cabbages. Food was scarce.
